Lestat du Chenil Victoire, Sch3
1999 USA National Champion 91 100
100
Lestat is truly one of the best IPO (Schutzhund) dogs I have ever known. He was bred by Gary D'Hue, who has bred many very good Malinois under the "du Chenil Victoire" kennel name.
Lestat is owned, trained and handled by Al Banuelos. Al raised and trained Lestat from a puppy to win the USA Nationals in Reno, Nevada in 1999. He was the first Malinois ever to win the USA Nationals and the first and only dog ever to earn perfect 100 point scores in obedience and protection in that event!
Lestat is a big, powerful, confident dog. His protection at the 1999 Nationals in Reno is the best I have ever seen. The dog showed power and aggression, not only in his biting and guarding, but also in his outs! He was very animated and energetic in the obedience, with some of the best retrieves I have ever seen (Al is the king of retrieves).
Unfortunately, Lestat was only ever bred to one bitch, Brandy. The puppies he and Brandy produced were very good and compete in French Ring, Mondio Ring, Schutzhund, IPO, NAPD, PSA, and are working police, security and detection dogs. His brother Lothar was more widely used at stud and also produced some very good dogs.
