Belgian Malinois Breeders and Trainers
Loups du Soleil Malinois Kennel - Mike Ellis (San Francisco) and Lisa Maze (San Diego) breed cooperatively and have bred and trained some great Malinois.
You can find Mike Baker's Malinois breeding and training information at Great Lakes Canine. Mike is in northern Ohio; he's doing good training and breeding with his Malinois.

Mario Neumann breeds really good Malinois under the kennel name "vom Schnellen Fuchs". I've seen puppies from litters out of his male "Duke vom Schnellen Fuchs" and really liked all the pups. If you are considering a German Malinois, consider vom Schellen Fuchs Malinois.
Another good breeder of German Malinois is Antje Remus of de l’origine de faucon rouge. I saw a couple of dogs out of her A litter at the DMC Championat in 2004 and really liked them.
History of the Belgian Shepherd Dog
Kadi Thingvall has done her research and written an interesting article / timeline of the history of the Belgian Shepherd Dog. She argues that the BSD's (in America seperated in by coat type into four different breeds) in Belgium had a long history as guards and police dogs as well as herding dogs. While you are there, check out Kadi's dogs. She breeds some really nice dogs and posts a lot of videos and pictures.
Training Resources
The American Working Malinois Association has a good website about Belgian Malinois in IPO (Schutzhund). The AWMA Magazine is released quarterly and has articles covering a wide variety of topics that relate to Malinois. The AWMA Discussion Board is well attended by serious sport dog trainers and it can be a lot of fun to read and participate in the debates.
Suzanne Clothier has a great index of dog training articles. I may not agree with all of her ideas and opinions, but they are intelligent, well-thought out and will inspire you to think a little harder, too. Well worth a look through.
Terri Arnold is the trainer for precise, animated, reliable obedience. Everyone with an interest in great obedience should own the first book in her series.
Los Angeles Companion Dog Training
My friend Rebecca Setler lives in Los Angeles and works full time running a very successful dog training business. She is the best dog trainer I know for training companion dogs. Her site has some really good dog training articles covering topics of interest to house dog owners.
Housebreaking
The Housebreaking Bible - A friend and I are working on a new site that is all about housebreaking puppies and dogs. It covers potty schedules, crate training, doggy doors, supervision and puppy proofing, picking an outdoor potty area, papertraining, litter box training and problem solving. It's a very useful site right now and we will continue to add content as the site grows.

My New Project
I'm currently working on a dog training site for pet dogs. Not much point in checking it out just yet; I expect the full site to be up someday, but don't hold your breath- my new puppy is keeping me too busy right now :)
